Refunds on Missing Shipments/Packages
Due to high levels of fraud it is our policy not to issue refunds for missing shipments. Instead we will at our own discretion replace missing items when we deem appropriate to do so. Route shipping protection is available at checkout. If you opted into the Route shipping protection plan, your order will be covered by Route. After making a purchase with Route protection you will receive an email with details on how to make a claim. The process is quick and easy.  

Waiting Period for Missing Shipments/Packages

We have found that missing packages often turn up from a neighbor or the delivery company within a few days. Even packages that have been signed for. It is our policy to wait 5 business days for the package to resurface before replacing any missing packages.

Insured damaged or Missing Shipments/Packages

We offer shipping insurance that covers damage, and theft. If your order was insured and damaged, or stolen a claim must be filed with the insurer. 

Refunds on Financed Orders

Orders that have been paid for by financing (Snap for example) will be refunded by check and sent by mail. It is your responsibility to use that check to pay off your financing. American Hard Bag does not have the ability to pay Snap directly for you.

Financing Refund Fee

In the event that items are returned for refund that have been financed there will be a $79 flat fee in addition to any restocking fees in order to cover the finance charges and other costs that American Hard Bag incurs. American Hard Bag pays financing fees for our customers so that they can enjoy "Same As Cash" financing for the first 100 days. When items are returned that have been financed these fees are not reimbursed to American Hard Bag by the finance company.

Fitment Guarantee
In the event your item(s) do not fit your bike as we have stated in print online, we do offer a 100% credit for that item(s) in exchange for comparable item(s) that we carry. In the event that we do not carry or can not obtain a product that is the correct fit for your specified bike, We offer a 100% refund including the original shipping as well as the return shipping, and shipping for the replacement item(s). Please note that we do not offer a 100% guarantee on fitment of items that do not state on the product page that they fit your particular bike. However as long as the product is in new and resealable condition we generally will exchange the product less shipping.

Orders canceled before they ship or items returned because of a change of mind/didn't need/didn't fit do not qualify for free return shipping and are subject to a 15% restocking fee as processing orders cost us time and resources.

A Return Merchandise Authorization number (RMA) must be issued to you before you return your item. Items returned without an RMA will be refused. 

Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

Please read the product description for the items you purchase before checkout. Customers not reading and understanding what they are buying is the number 1 reason for returns and it costs everyone involved time and money. 

Items returned must be in perfect resealable condition in order to qualify for a refund. An item is generally not refundable if it has been installed. Be sure to verify fitment before installing an item or making any alterations.

Returns
In the event that you need to return or exchange an item please first contact us by email at customerservice@americanhardbag.com. or call us at 1(888)311-0016 to get a Return Authorization Number. We do not accept returns without a return authorization number.

Refund Policy

CANCELLATION FEE

Most orders have a processing time and many of our products have a build time. Orders are processed in the order we receive them. Processing orders costs us very real time and resources. Orders that are canceled due to poor planning or impatience on your part are subject to a 15% cancellation fee. Orders that have already shipped are also subject to shipping fees for both directions and refunds are not issued until all merchandise is returned, inspected, and approved as "in resealable condition". Merchandise that is returned installed, damaged, opened, altered in any way, or damaged in shipping are not refundable. Please be sure to insure any returns, as you are solely responsible for those items. 

Restocking Fee
There is a 15% restocking fee for items returned because a customer changes their mind or did not read the product description. Return shipping is paid by the customer.


Refund Process Time
Refunds take up to 7 business days for us to process once we have received the merchandise and inspected it. After that point your bank can take up to 10 more business days to make funds available to you (17 business days total, after inspection). Once the refund has been completed on our end you will receive an automated email to inform you of the details.

Refund Eligibility 
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging and be in resalable condition. Installed items are not refundable.

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.

There are special situations where only partial refunds are granted: (if applicable)
Products with obvious signs of use, or that have been opened. Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error. Or any item that is returned more than 30 days after purchase. In any of these cases we generally do not accept a return at all, but we do take certain circumstances into account. Partial refunds or exchanges in these cases are at our discretion and are not guaranteed in any way.

Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 7 business days.

Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. We have observed that many banks wait up to 10 business days before releasing funds. Your banks process is not in our control.

Sale items (if applicable)
Generally only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded. If you do need to return a sale priced item please contact us at customerservice@americanhardbag.com

Exchanges (if applicable)
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at customerservice@americanhardbag.com and send your item to:

Gifts
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn't marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.

Shipping
To return your product, you should first email us at customerservice@americanhardbag.com and be issued an RMA number for your return.

Returned items without an RMA number will not be accepted.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

If you are shipping an item back to us, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
