How to Set Your Velocity 8 Dsp to High Power Mode When Driving Horns With the Internal Amplifier
In this article, we'll guide you through the process of setting your Velocity Eight DSP to high power mode when driving horns using the internal amplifier built into the DSP.
To begin, ensure your bike is turned on and a USB is connected to the DSP. Next, launch the PC tool app. Once you're in the app, navigate to the DCM tab, which is located on the upper right-hand side of the interface. The DCM section is where you'll make the preference settings for your sound processor.
Once you're in the DCM section, click on the 'Extended Features' tab located on the far left of the screen. Then, navigate to the 'Power Output Mode' located towards the lower part of the screen, just right of center. Here, select 'High Power Mode'. When prompted, confirm your selection by clicking 'Yes' twice. This action will set the internal amplifier to high power mode, and you'll notice the horn tweeters becoming louder.
It's crucial to save your settings after making these changes. When you click to save, the app will first ask you which preset in the DSP you want to save your changes to. If you have more than one preset in your DSP, select the one that is marked 'Loaded'. This is the active preset that you're currently using.
Next, the app will prompt you to choose a location on your PC to save this preset. Choose a location where you'll easily find this preset in the future, should you ever need it. Remember to name it something recognizable for easy retrieval.
And that's it! You've successfully set your Velocity Eight DSP to high power mode. Now you can enjoy a louder and more powerful sound from your horn tweeters.
